Bianca Belair has held the RAW Women's Championship for more than 400 days, though her recent match against Iyo Sky at Backlash saw fans briefly turn on the babyface Superstar.
While Asuka has now been positioned as the heel in their rivalry following Monday's episode of RAW, it appears plans are being put in place for Belair to turn heel. And she won't be alone.
According to the @BoozerRasslin Twitter account, the current plan is for both the EST and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) to take on heel personas this summer. Presumably, they'll become a faction, a move which makes sense when Ford and Belair are married in real life.
All of their characters would benefit from a fresh coat of paint, and this sort of shakeup could benefit SmackDown greatly.
The Street Profits have fallen short of winning tag team gold on multiple occasions, and while they remain a popular duo, now feels like the right time to pull the trigger on a heel turn for this trio. Giving them some fresh material would also be no bad thing.
Belair is expected to defend the RAW Women's Championship against Asuka at Night of Champions later this month.
Talking of the PLE, it sounds like WWE has big plans to surprise fans at the show. Apparently, a surprise title change will take place that's set to take someone on a "bigger path in his career." That sounds a lot like Gunther to us, even if the Austrian losing to Mustafa Ali this soon into his time on RAW feels like a major blunder on the company's part.
Then again, if a World Heavyweight Championship run beckons, that's an odd bit of booking we can probably forgive!
