SummerSlam is going to be a huge show, and WWE is planning to pull out all the stops with fans in attendance. There have already been rumblings that John Cena will compete in a match, but it sounds like the company also has plans to bring back former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
According to the Mat Men Podcast, it's still the plan for Las Vegas to host the show, with one of the main events pitting Cena against Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
"Lesnar was early on for SummerSlam plans they were trying to do something," he adds. "I think the concept behind Lesnar is to justify what we’re gonna pay him [and] we need a more consistent touring schedule so we can build to this and those appearances by Lesnar will help sell tickets, obviously."
As for what Lesnar is going to be doing, we can only speculate for now. However, it's worth noting that The Beast's name was mentioned on RAW this week for the first time in a while.
WWE Champion Bobby Lashley pointed out that Lesnar no longer works for WWE, and as it's no secret that he wants a match with the former UFC star, we're willing to bet that dream bout is going to go down at SummerSlam. Hopefully, Lashley won't be buried by the returning Lesnar in a blink-and-you'd-miss-it match.
