As we've already told you, a number of sites are reporting that John Cena is "100% out" of the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia. It's said that nothing is going to change his mind and that he realises being associated with the event could have a negative impact on his movie career and no amount of money offered by WWE will make up for the backlash he'd receive from mainstream media.
Now, as WWE attempts to figure out what to do about both Cena and Daniel Bryan's absence from the show, the company has issued a brief response in regards to the matter. "As always, we maintain an open line of communication with our performers and will address each situation accordingly," they're telling sites reaching out for comments on these two Superstars refusing to perform.
While Cena will be easy enough to replace in the World Cup tournament, explaining why Bryan is no longer challenging for the WWE Championship will be hard to explain unless he's attacked by someone like The Miz during SmackDown Live and ends up being written out of the show due to "injury." Things will no doubt start to become clearer in the coming days so stay tuned for updates.
