During the Royal Rumble PPV, AJ Styles took a Spear from Edge and ended up landing poorly on his shoulder after selling the move. Since then, he's confirmed that what happened wasn't the WWE Hall of Famer's fault and that he separated his shoulder, hence why he was so quickly eliminated from the match.

Now, WWE has finally issued an official statement on Styles' injury: "AJ Styles is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury and is recovering way ahead of doctor’s projections," it reads. "The Phenomenal One suffered the injury during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match."

If Styles is indeed recovering ahead of doctor's projections, that bodes well for him moving forward and WWE more than likely wants to keep his return a surprise even if it happens in the next few weeks. For what it's worth, the former United States Champion has said he definitely plans on being back in plenty of time for WrestleMania

As of right now, though, there's been no word on plans for him at the Show of Shows.
