On Saturday, Jeff Hardy was arrested in South Carolina for public intoxication. The WWE Superstar has struggled with substance abuse issues for years now and the hope is that this isn't a sign of bigger issues for him. Regardless, he will not be required to appear in court because he is a first-time offender for a charge like this.

A mugshot has still been doing the rounds online, though, and WWE has issued a response to the news today.

"Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions," it reads. WWE never tends to say much about this type of thing and Hardy is, of course, currently on the shelf nursing an injury. Whether this will have an impact on how - or if - he's booked upon his return is hard to say.

Needless to say, we wish Jeff all the best.
