WWE May Be Planning Another Tournament This Year Focusing On Latin Wrestlers

WWE has found great success with the Cruiserweight and Mae Young Classics over the past couple of years and a new report points to another tournament taking place this year focusing on Latin wrestlers.

WWE's last tour of Chile was a huge success and a new report points to the company now launching a tournament to further break into the potentially lucrative Latin market. Featuring talent from countries like Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil, William Regal will reportedly be closely involved and he's already scouting for talent (which is a big part of the NXT GM's job description anyway).

There's no word on what might be in store for the tournament's winner (an NXT
contract or South American Championship are two possibilities) but expect it to receive a lot of attention as a big chunk of WWE's fanbase is Latin-American and Superstars like Kalisto and Sin Cara have failed to tap into that. Apparently, this is an idea Vince McMahon is very keen on so that could help the winner too.

Throw in the fact that Andrade "Cien" Almas is getting a huge push in NXT and those rumours of a Rey Mysterio return and we could start seeing a lot more diversity in WWE moving forward.
