The latest edition of WWE Monday Night Raw for August 3, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— United States Championship Match: Apollo Crews defeated MVP by pinfall to retain the title. Crews explained that he's going to hang up his old United States belt in his house as inspiration for his kids and start carrying around the belt MVP commissioned to be made. MVP complained after the match that he wants a rematch at SummerSlam, which Crews accepted.
— Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan reunited their partnership on The KO Show as Kevin Owens gave them a chance to air their dirty laundry and make up. Riott and Morgan then beat The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) by pinfall.
— Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton had a promo segment together explaining how they feel about one another and how their WWE Championship match at SummerSlam will go down.
— Kevin Owens will fight Randy Orton next week as part of a showing that Owens wants to be the type of backstage leader that Orton hasn't been, which is one of the things McIntyre was talking about.
— Nia Jax was supposed to apologize to official Pat Buck for her actions last week. Instead, she challenged him to a match, so he told her she had been suspended indefinitely. As a response, she attacked him and laid him out.
— Shelton Benjamin dropped the 24/7 Championship in a triple threat match to Akira Tozawa, who pinned R-Truth.
— Dominick Mysterio has challenged Seth Rollins to a match at SummerSlam. When asked about it by Murphy, Rollins didn't say anything and just walked off.
— Asuka interrupted a match between Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler, causing a no-contest. After that, Asuka asked for a rematch against The Boss at SummerSlam. Baszler said she's rooting for Asuka because she wants to take the title off her, eventually. Banks put it out there that if Asuka can beat Bayley next week, she'll get her title match at SummerSlam.
— Shane McMahon premiered Raw Underground, which is a fight club of sorts that is happening during Raw backstage they cut to here and there. The ring has no ropes and it has more of an MMA fight feel to it. Featured so far were Dabba-Kato (formerly Babatunde), Erik of The Viking Raiders and Dolph Ziggler. The Hurt Business came out to say they want to take control of Raw Underground. Bobby Lashley quickly took someone out, followed by MVP, then Shelton Benjamin.
— Angel Garza beat Angelo Dawkins by pinfall. Then, Andrade beat Montez Ford by referee stoppage after Ford passed out psyching himself up. Backstage, they said that he might have been poisoned, so Bianca Belair went after Zelina Vega in retaliation.
— After Seth Rollins and Murphy tried to intimidate Tom Phillips for speaking ill of them, Samoa Joe stood up to them. They almost came to blows, but Dominick attacked Rollins and Murphy with a kendo stick. Rollins then accepted Dominick's challenge for a match at SummerSlam.
