The latest edition of WWE Monday Night Raw for September 28, 2020 took place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— The show started with The Nature Boy Ric Flair, Big Show, Christian, Shawn Michaels and Drew McIntyre for a promo. Randy Orton interrupted to say he deserves another title match. Meanwhile, McIntyre issued an open challenge for anyone who hadn't already fought him for the belt.
— Asuka defeated Zelina Vega by submission. After the match, Andrade came to the ring to cut a promo about how Vega is nothing without him and Angel Garza got hurt last night because he was holding the team together. Keith Lee then beat Andrade by pinfall.
— A ninja handed R-Truth a note that said "If you are reading this, I was eaten by a shark." and spoke about their epic battles for the title. This was a ruse to distract R-Truth, as Akira Tozawa rolled him up to win the title. Then, the ninja beat Tozawa to win the title and unmasked to reveal it was Drew Gulak, who was then immediately beaten by R-Truth to lose the title yet again.
— Jerry "The King" Lawler hosted an edition of The King's Court with the Mysterio family. Aalyah said that Murphy needs to reevaluate his life choices if he hangs around with Seth Rollins, who popped up on the TitanTron to show a text message between Aalyah and Murphy. "Murphy's not like Seth", said Aalyah, as she walked away. Dominik went to the back and attacked Murphy to set up a match for later.
— Natalya and Lana complained that they are celebrities with big enough followers that they should be awarded the women's tag titles, which Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler should be stripped of. Adam Pearce came out to say he wouldn't do that, but to book them against Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, who beat them by pinfall.
— Kevin Owens defeated Aleister Black by disqualification when Black struck the referee.
— Triple Threat 24/7 Championship Match: R-Truth retained the title over Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak by pinfall.
— Murphy defeated Dominik Mysterio by pinfall. Aalyah pleaded with Dominik to not hit Murphy with a kendo stick, reiterating that Murphy isn't like Rollins. Dominik said "Dad was right. You are naive." and she slapped him.
— Apollo Crews, Mustafa Ali and Ricochet defeated The Hurt Business by pinfall.
— Drew McIntyre defeated Robert Roode by pinfall to retain the WWE Championship.
— Backstage, Randy Orton attacked Big Show, Christian, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair in their lounge to end the show.
