According to
Sports Illustrated, WWE has named Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors of both main roster shows.
Heyman is set to become Executive Director of
Monday Night Raw, while Bischoff will fill the same role for
SmackDown Live. Both will report directly to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
This is obviously a pretty major development, and should greatly impact the creative direction of the product moving forward - something which fans have been waiting to see for a very long time.
It's fitting that Heyman and Bischoff have been assigned to these roles, having both played a huge hand in bringing out the best in
WWE back in the day as the driving forces behind
 ECW and
WCW, respectively. Let's hope they can do the same for the company now and turn those declining ratings around.
