Preview & Predictions for WWE NO MERCY 2025:
On tap for tonight's event, Jacy Jayne will defend the NXT Women's Championship against Lola Vice, who won the right to challenge for the title at the last event. As much as WWE has been putting a spotlight on Vice here and there for the past year or so, having her in AAA making a splash here and there isn't quite the same as being treated the way some of the other stars are. I think Vice is effectively just being set up as a solid contender who will lose to extend Jacy's reign, while someone like Jordynne Grace or Blake Monroe, or even Jaida Parker, is more likely to be the next in line for the throne. That is especially true for how Grace should beat Monroe in their Weaponized Steel Cage match and use that to become the next challenger.
With Jazmyn Nyx gone from NXT and written out of Fatal Influence, while Lainey Reid has been getting closer to Jayne, I think we'll see Reid beat Sol Ruca for the Speed title, likely by something that ZARIA does to inadvertently cost Ruca. They were just arguing because of the opposite scenario, and I think ZARIA will be the one who eventually beats Ruca for the Women's North American Championship, so this could be the start of that.
On the other side, Tavion Heights will come up short in his bid for the NXT North American Championship. Unless Ethan Page is scheduled to be called up to the main roster (likely SmackDown to work alongside Chelsea Green) sometime very soon, I don't think Page is dropping the title. Overall, I think the momentum from Green and Page working together has slowed enough that WWE won't want to do that right now, so I bank more on Page retaining than leaving.
When it comes to Je'Von Evans versus Josh Briggs and Oba Femi versus Ricky Saints, I think one match influences the other. Basically, if Briggs wins, I'm going to assume Saints becomes the new champion and Briggs will be his first challenger. However, if Evans wins, then I think Femi retains and it will be Evans getting another shot at Femi that ends up with a title change.
