Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, two titles are on the line, as well as a childhood friendship.
Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo will have a face-to-face confrontation of sorts. Last week, following Stacks turning on D'Angelo at WWE Stand & Deliver, it seemed as though Stacks took out Luca Crusifino and The Don told Adriana Rizzo to lay low for a while. What were Lorenzo's motivations? Is the second-in-command trying to usurp the throne?
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger will defend their newly-won NXT Tag Team Championship titles against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura, who received a title shot due to Inamura hamming it up backstage with Ava and garnering some sympathy, as his time on loan to NXT is coming to an end soon. This is their last chance to win the titles. My guess is they'll fall short of that goal and we'll see Briggs turn on Inamura.
Lastly, at least as far as what's been advertised ahead of time, Ricky Saints puts his NXT North American Championship on the line against Lexis King, who originally wanted this to be a title-for-title match, but he lost his Heritage Cup last week to Noam Dar. Watch out for Saints to retain, and for both Dar and Ethan Page to get involved.
Iyo Sky will be popping up to get some revenge on Roxanne Perez and Giulia after their continued actions on the past two episodes of Monday Night Raw, and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry looks to get some retaliation on Trick Williams for how Williams attacked him at the end of TNA Rebellion this past Sunday night, too.
Here are your results for WWE NXT April 28, 2025:
- Promo: Joe Hendry talked about what Trick Williams did at TNA Rebellion. He was then attacked by DarkState.
- Earlier today, Ashante "Thee" Adonis interrupted Karmen Petrovic, who was talking to Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley about how they almost won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship titles at Rebellion. He called them losers (which Petrovic didn't like) and told Petrovic that he got her a match against Sol Ruca tonight.
- NXT North American Championship Match: Ricky Saints (c) defeated Lexis King by pinfall.
- Shawn Spears had a meeting with Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance, and Izzi Dame, going over their recent losses, and wants to re-strategize how they can turn things around.
- Promo: Tony D'Angelo lamented how things have been going with Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, who appeared on the TitanTron and had set up some security guards to attack The Don. D'Angelo fought them off.
- Meta-Four amicably decided to go their separate ways and will no longer be a faction.
- Sol Ruca defeated Karmen Petrovic by pinfall. After the match, Adonis was upset with Petrovic for losing. Petrovic kicked him in the head and walked off, seemingly breaking up with him.
- Trick Williams cut a promo about Joe Hendry, plugged his upcoming project on CW, whined some more about how he wants a match against Oba Femi, etc. Ava came out to scold him. Trick called himself bigger than NXT. Ava announced that Trick will have to win a 25-man battle royal next week in order to get the title shot he wants against Oba Femi at NXT Battleground.
- Speaking of that battle royal, not only did The Undertaker show up to say that some LFG stars will be involved (seemingly Shiloh Hill, Jasper Troy, and Anthony Luke), but Myles Borne also had a backstage segment with Tavion Heights and Wren Sinclair where it was revealed that while Borne is interested in getting in that battle royal, Charlie Dempsey is apparently upset with Borne for teaming with Je'Von Evans last week.
- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Hank Walker & Tank Ledger (c) defeated Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura by pinfall. Later, Hank and Tank told Joe Hendry that they'd back him up against DarkState.
- Andre Chase was exuberant about a new semester starting for Chase University.
- Kelani Jordan badmouthed Sol Ruca as not being as much of a fighting champion as she was with the Women's North American Championship. Zaria said Jordan would have to go through her in order to get a title opportunity.
- Iyo Sky and Jordynne Grace defeated Giulia and Roxanne Perez by pinfall.
- Ava informed Stephanie Vaquer that Jordynne Grace and Giulia will have a No. 1 contender's match with the winner facing Vaquer for the NXT Women's Championship at Battleground.
