Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, TNA World Champion Trick Williams and Je'Von Evans fight to become No. 1 contender for Oba Femi's NXT Championship, with the winner earning a title shot for WWE NXT Heatwave. I fully suspect this will break down into a no-contest and it will be announced that Femi will fight both of them in a Triple Threat. WWE loves their rematches where they do a title match, have someone come up short, then come back around to it in a few weeks or months and THEN have the title change hands. If they don't just flat out replicate that Triple Threat, I'd be surprised.
Ricky Saints will face Jasper Troy and likely win. Josh Briggs beats Yoshiki Inamura in a Philadelphia Street Fight. Fatal Influence could very well lose to The Elegance Brand, especially with Masha Slamovich as special guest referee, if people like Jaida Parker get involved and cause some distractions. If they don't, Fatal Influence wins and they're done with Ash by Elegance and just move on to something else.
I don't anticipate the "peace treaty" will go well for The Green Regime and Ethan Page. I think we're getting a match announced for Heatwave between Page and Green against Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele.
The face-to-face between Blake Monroe and Jordynne Grace will also equally not go well and will break down into a fight to help build hype for that match.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - August 19, 2025:
- Philadelphia Street Fight: Josh Briggs defeated Yoshiki Inamura by pinfall.
- Ricky Saints beat Jasper Troy by pinfall.
- Blake Monroe had written up a contract to make sure Jordynne Grace didn't beat her up, as if she would have, the match at Heatwave would be off. Grace threatened to make Monroe see who she really is.
- Zaria and Sol Ruca got into a bickering segment backstage with Fatal Influence, who was wished good luck by Lainey Reid sucking up to Jacy Jayne.
- Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx) defeated The Elegance Brand (Ash by Elegance, Heather by Elegance, and M by Elegance with The Personal Concierge) by pinfall
- Chelsea Green and Ethan Page had their "peace treaty" with Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele, which was essentially the heels talking smack about Americans (and Heights and Steele specifically). Ava announced a mixed tag team match for Heatwave between them and the babyfaces put the heels in ankle locks until they retreated.
- Backstage, Lexis King apologized to Myles Borne for being insensitive, erroneously saying that Borne is both deaf and blind. When Borne corrected him that he isn't blind, King sprayed him in the eyes to blind him.
- Also backstage, Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, and Lash Legend all argued with each other.
- Also also backstage (rapid fire segments here), DarkState were talking to Ava when Joe Hendry appeared and Cutler James did another one of his unintentional innuendo moments.
- No. 1 Contender's Match: Je'Von Evans defeated Trick Williams by pinfall. Mike Santana distracted Williams
