Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, Blake Monroe will be defending her NXT Women's North American Championship against Thea Hail. That was a ridiculous segment last week with the open challenge that led to Hail quickly jumping in the ring, forcing Monroe to tap out immediately, and no referee being around, just to set up this match. Undoubtedly, WWE will take the blandest, least interesting route here and just have Monroe retain, which will mean they wanted to do the absolute bare minimum to stretch two segments out of this and not care about who comes out looking good or if the show itself will even be properly entertaining or false advertising. Poor Hail for how she's treated all the time, and poor Monroe for not having a better story going on right now. That seems to be plaguing the women's division across all of WWE this year.
Speaking of, since Kendal Grey gets a shot at Jacy Jayne for New Year's Evil, and since she's teaming with Wren Sinclair against the two other members of Fatal Influence, who does Grey beat between Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid so that the commentary team can act like she's got a real shot at winning the NXT Women's Championship? That's clearly the setup. Textbook stuff. It's basic, but it works for a reason.
And then, for some reason, since the NXT Championship match that was supposed to come out of the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge match was already used up by Je'Von Evans, let's take the four losers of that match and book them as the replacement. I can't see an argument for Joe Hendry, Leon Slater, or Myles Born here. This has to be Dion Lennox winning tonight's Fatal 4-Way #1 contender's match.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - December 16, 2025:
- Thea Hail won the NXT Women's North American Championship from Blake Monroe (c) by pinfall. This may have been a botch, as it appears to have been and has led to much confusion, but she's being declared as the new champion whether or not it was planned.
- Ethan Page had an in-ring promo where he wanted to call out Tony D'Angelo for attacking him last week, but was met by Stacks and Arianna Grace instead. Stacks wants to get even more gold to go along with his TNA International Championship. But then, Moose from TNA Wrestling came out as well and revealed that he has a title shot against Page scheduled for the December 30th episode of NXT.
- In a backstage segment, Je'Von Evans was upset over Ricky Saints costing him the NXT Championship last week, but Leon Slater wants him to join him ringside for his Fatal 4-Way match later on, and Evans agreed.
- Hank Walker & Tank Ledger defeated OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) by pinfall.
-
Backstage, Ava told Jasper Troy that a new WWE Speed tournament will begin next week to determine his next challenger.
-
Ricky Saints talked trash about Je'Von Evans in the ring, justifying his heel turn. Evans came out for a fight, but Saints slammed him through the commentary table.
-
In Ava's office, she informed Chelsea Green that she's going to defend the Women's United States Championship against Sol Ruca on next week's show.
-
Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair defeated Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid by submission when Henley tapped out to Grey.
-
Thea Hail was interviewed backstage about her title win. She was incredibly hyped. Jordynne Grace approached and Hail reminded her that she's right in saying you have to stay positive. Blake Monroe then interrupted to say this is the worst day of her life and she wants a rematch.
-
Izzi Dame was shown talking on the phone with Shawn Spears about how he can't find Niko Vance, seemingly taken out in some way by Tatum Paxley. Lola Vice
-
Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye will be facing Stacks and Arianna Grace next week after a backstage run-in.
