Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, Myles Borne defends the NXT North American Championship against Kam Hendrix, Shiloh Hill faces Tristan Angels, Lizzy Rain takes on Izzi Dame, and OTM battles two members of BirthRight.
The extra stipulation for the North American title match is that if Myles Borne successfully retains over Kam Hendrix, he and Tavion Heights will get a shot at The Vanity Project for the NXT Tag Team Championship next week. Normally, with Hendrix catching some steam, I would think that he might have the attention on him to upset Borne and win the belt, but I don't think WWE is setting up the tag title scenario all for nothing. The trick is whether or not OTM step in to get that title shot instead, as they're still lingering and in the midst of a storyline of Bronco Nima and Lucien Price possibly breaking up. Do they just lose against BirthRight tonight and go down that split scenario instead? Possibly.
Lizzy Rain against Izzi Dame feels like a win for Rain to me. Dame hasn't suffered a significant enough loss after excommunicating Shawn Spears from The Culling, so his involvement to distract her seems right, particularly since Rain has lost some of her upward momentum as of late and could use the win.
Shiloh Hill has his other persona of The Fog that he still needs to show off more, so a win over Tristan Angels due to that gimmick is certainly another possibility, even though they've run that kind of concept a few times by now and I'm curious why they keep repeating it instead of just moving on to something else for these two. Both are great, but this is becoming repetitive poor writing and not doing anything for either of them, so hopefully, this is it and they can start some new feuds.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - July 28, 2026:
- Grayson Waller opened the show by declaring his intention to take over NXT and finally win the NXT Championship. He criticized Tony D'Angelo, Cruz Montana and nearly the entire men's division for becoming complacent while claiming the women were running circles around them. Waller continued after his microphone was cut off before the broadcast abruptly went to commercial.
- Lizzy Rain defeated Izzi Dame by pinfall with Thunderstruck. Niko Vance attempted to interfere on Dame's behalf, but Shawn Spears appeared with a steel chair and distracted both members of The Culling long enough for Rain to capitalize.
- Cruz Montana received several welcomes backstage from Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno and Saquon Shugars. Kelani Jordan also tried to warn Montana about the lack of opportunities in NXT before becoming frustrated when he walked away during her complaints.
- Swipe Right protested the possibility of Myles Borne and Tavion Heights receiving an NXT Tag Team Championship opportunity. Keanu Carver later entered Robert Stone's office and requested a match and was oddly cordial in his approach, while Stone ordered Grayson Waller to return to the arena.
- Thea Hail congratulated Jaida Parker for defeating Natalya and said she understood what it was like to feel isolated in the locker room. Hail revealed that Stone had scheduled them to face Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons.
- NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defeated Kam Hendrix by pinfall with Borne Again to retain the title. Mason Rook attempted to interfere, but Tavion Heights stopped him. The victory also earned Borne and Heights an NXT Tag Team Championship match against Swipe Right. Rook attacked Hendrix afterward, while Vanity Project jumped Borne and Heights before the No Quarter Catch Crew fought them off.
- Angel and Berto encouraged fellow Los Perros del Mal member Bronco Nima before OTM's match, which continued to make Lucien Price uncomfortable.
- BirthRight's Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors defeated OTM's Bronco Nima and Lucien Price by pinfall. Angel and Berto came to ringside, prompting Nima to leave the apron and speak with them. BirthRight isolated Price and Stacks pinned him while Nima was distracted. Price remained frustrated afterward as Nima found himself caught between his tag team partner and Los Perros del Mal.
- Zaria and Wren Sinclair each asked Robert Stone for a new challenger. Stone booked Zaria to challenge Sinclair for the WWE Women's Speed Championship next week, with Sinclair receiving an NXT Women's North American Championship match if she retains.
- Kendal Grey and Lola Vice were featured in separate training videos ahead of their NXT Underground match. Kali Armstrong argued that she deserved the opportunity instead, leading to confrontations with Izzi Dame and Kelani Jordan before Reina Volcan warned them that the NXT women's division had reloaded.
- Shiloh Hill defeated Tristan Angels by pinfall with a diving neckbreaker from the top rope. Hill avoided a knee strike onto the steel steps and drove Angels into the announce table before finishing him inside the ring.
- Cruz Montana closed the show by confirming that he had officially signed with WWE and explaining how he rebuilt his life and career to become someone his daughter could be proud of. Montana thanked TNA but made it clear that his goal was to become NXT Champion. Tony D'Angelo interrupted and welcomed Montana to NXT, but warned him that the championship spot he wanted was already occupied. Grayson Waller then blindsided Montana and attacked both men. Waller avoided an attempted clothesline, causing Montana to accidentally lay out D'Angelo as Waller escaped and mocked them from ringside.
