Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, Ethan Page will defend his NXT North American Championship against the TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella. Marella came out last week to offset Page's promo where he unveiled a new version of the North American title that features a Canadian flag as the strap. I'd be extremely surprised to see a title change here, but stranger things have happened, and it wouldn't be the first time Santino was positioned as an outsider to the company and won a championship. Look at his WWE debut opposite Umaga when he won the Intercontinental Championship.
Jaida Parker and Lash Legend are both looking to put their names in the hat to be Jacy Jayne's next challenger for either the NXT Women's Championship or the TNA Knockouts World Championship (or both? How does this work now?) and as such, will be in action against Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley. I suspect both will beat their respective Fatal Influence opponents so that it becomes even less clear who should get the title shot, leading to either a No. 1 contender's match between Lash and Jaida, or a Triple Threat match with both of them earning a shot against Jayne for the future.
Tavion Heights also gets another shot at beating Charlie Dempsey, with the same stipulation as before. If Heights wins, he gets to leave No Quarter Catch Crew. If he loses, he has to stay in NQCC and stop complaining about it.
Of course, we'll see further developments in the feud between Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe, the D'Angelo Family drama, Jasper Troy and Ricky Saints, more from Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, Oba Femi, the heel turn from Josh Briggs against Yoshiki Inamura, and Izzi Dame's crew of The Culling and their rivalry with ZaRuca and the tag team champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, among other things as we start heading toward NXT Heatwave right around the corner.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - July 29, 2025:
- As with SmackDown and Raw, this show opened with a tribute to Hulk Hogan.
- Jaida Parker defeated Jazmyn Nyx by pinfall.
- Je'Von Evans interacted with some people backstage, high-fiving Shiloh Hill and Drake Morreaux, having a brief verbal spat with The High Ryze, and agreeing with Andre Chase's advice to Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon about going after the biggest dog in the yard, saying that's what Undertaker told him last week. Evans then went to the ring for a promo to do just that, and was interrupted by Trick Williams, who assumed Evans was getting ready to talk about him. Evans planned on challenging Oba Femi, instead, though. Trick's ego was hurt and he threatened to also go after Femi to try to become a double champion between TNA and NXT like Jacy Jayne currently is. The High Ryze came out and supported Trick, leading to the four of them laying out Evans.
- Tavion Heights defeated Charlie Dempsey by pinfall.
- There was an in-ring promo from Blake Monroe badmouthing Jordynne Grace that was interrupted by Lola Vice, then Jaida Parker, then Kelani Jordan, leading to a brief fight sequence with Vice and Jordan standing tall in the ring.
- Backstage, The Culling talked about how Tatum Paxley will get a shot at Sol Ruca's Women's North American Championship next week. Luca Crusifino was upset, watching on, saying that no family lasts forever.
- Fallon Henley defeated Lash Legend by pinfall due to interference from Nia Jax, who went after Legend and then laid her out after the match.
- Backstage, Josh Briggs got into a scrap with Yoshiki Inamura (Briggs is upset that Inamura ruined his shot at the title). Stacks seemed impressed with how Briggs has no loyalty and told Inamura that family isn't a real thing in this business. Inamura slapped him and we have another match for next week.
- Je'Von Evans defeated Wes Lee by pinfall.
- Robert Stone informed Ava that Ricky Saints is injured with a bruised sternum and no broken ribs, but will be back in no time. Also, Jordynne Grace will need to wear a neck brace for a bit. Lexis King stormed in to complain about Borne "faking it". Ava informed him that they're having a match next week.
- Ethan Page retained the NXT North American Championship Match: Ethan Page over Santino Marella by pinfall.
- Tony D'Angelo's dinner was interrupted by an unseen person to end the show in ominous teaser fashion.
