Tonight's episode of WWE NXT (September 1, 2026) emanated from WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and aired on The CW Network.

Results, match winners, promo segment notes and other major developments from NXT are listed below.

Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:

On tap for tonight's episode, Naraku battles Shiloh Hill; Mason Rook faces Kam Hendrix; Thea Hail takes on Nikkita Lyons; and Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno battle Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux.

WWE's booking of Shiloh Hill has changed nearly every single week. The guy can't even keep a gimmick long enough for it to stick. You might as well flip a coin with him, because there's no telling if the story here is going to be something with The Fog or the mist or a loss or a win or anything. I guess if I need to pick, I'd say Naraku wins, but WWE has made it so there's no real trend to track.

Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix have a story going where if Hendrix wins, he'll do it by cheating and the feud will continue, but if Rook wins, that's likely the end of it.

Thea Hail failed to beat Nikkita Lyons for the WWE EVOLVE Women's Championship. She can win this match here and position herself to be a potential challenger to Kelani Jordan down the line, but that's only if WWE actually wants to push Hail, who they consistently overlook.

I'm surprised we're getting Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, rather than against some heel team. Dar and Moreno winning could put them in a tag team title shot position against The Vanity Project, but so could Legacy and DVD. Whoever WWE books to win this will lose to Swipe Right, while the other team could end up being the next in line rather easily. I'll say Legacy and Van Dux win this one, but I wouldn't be shocked if it went in the other direction.

Here are your results for WWE NXT - September 1, 2026:

  • Zilla Fatu opened the show by addressing his failure to win the NXT Championship at Heatwave. Fatu said he had hoped to be standing there as champion, but emphasized how significant it was to already be competing for a WWE title and said it was only a matter of when he eventually wins it. Tristan Angels interrupted and mocked Fatu as an inferior member of his family. Fatu responded by calling Angels "Gangrel Jr." and challenged him to fight. The two briefly brawled before Angels retreated, and Robert Stone made a match between them official for later in the show.
  • Saquon Shugars and EK Prosper met with Robert Stone backstage to make their cases for an NXT Championship opportunity. Keanu Carver interrupted and pointed out that he has a case of his own, leaving Stone with an increasingly crowded contender situation.
  • Myles Borne addressed his actions against Tavion Heights at Heatwave in a prerecorded video. Borne said he did not regret attempting to defend both of his championships, but claimed he could see Heights preparing to turn against him after they lost the NXT Tag Team Championship. Borne said he struck first because he believed Heights was going to betray him and admitted that it hurt to discover he could not make both money and friends in the business.
  • Naraku defeated Shiloh Hill by pinfall. Naraku secretly spit green mist into his hand and rubbed it across Hill's face while the referee was unable to see him do it. Naraku followed with Enter the Abyss to score the victory.
  • Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux discussed the NXT Tag Team Championship picture backstage before their match. Although the conversation started cordially, both teams made it clear that they wanted to establish themselves as the next challengers to The Vanity Project.
  • Tag Team Match: Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno defeated Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux by pinfall. Legacy attempted a springboard 450 Splash late in the match, but Dar got his knees up and immediately caught him in a pinning combination for the victory. After the match, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed made their return to NXT and attacked all four wrestlers, leaving both teams laid out.
  • Zaria met with Robert Stone and chose to keep the NXT Women's North American Championship while relinquishing the WWE Women's Speed Championship she had unified with it at Heatwave. Stone then informed Lexis King that the WWE Speed Championship was also being discontinued, making King the final men's champion. BirthRight protested the decision before leaving and saying it was time for them to start taking rather than giving.
  • Cruz Montana approached Stone and requested a shot at new NXT Champion Grayson Waller. Stone told him to wait until Waller addressed the championship situation later in the show. Keanu Carver again appeared and reminded Stone that seemingly everyone wanted the same opportunity.
  • New NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan celebrated her Heatwave victory over Kendal Grey and claimed that she had always been overlooked and underappreciated. Jordan boasted that she won the NXT Women's North American Championship, TNA Knockouts World Championship and NXT Women's Championship on her first attempt at each title. Jaida Parker interrupted and argued that submitting Nattie at Heatwave had proven she was ready for a championship opportunity. Parker pointed out that she has already beaten Jordan and challenged her to defend the title immediately. Jordan refused to wrestle that night, but told Parker she would see her next week.
  • Non-Title Match: Thea Hail defeated WWE EVOLVE Women's Champion Nikkita Lyons by pinfall. Hail avoided Lyons' offense late in the match and connected with the Hail Mary senton to pick up the victory over the champion.
  • Commentary announced that Kendal Grey is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future due to the injuries she suffered after being driven into the exposed turnbuckle during her NXT Women's Championship loss to Kelani Jordan at Heatwave.
  • Mason Rook defeated Kam Hendrix by pinfall. Rook attacked Hendrix during his entrance before the match officially began. Hendrix later removed a turnbuckle pad in an attempt to cheat, but Rook instead drove him into the exposed turnbuckle and followed with the Rookus Slam for his first singles victory in NXT.
  • Tavion Heights said he was hurt and confused by Myles Borne attacking him at Heatwave, insisting Borne had been his best friend and brother rather than someone he planned to betray. The Vanity Project interrupted and mocked Heights, with Jackson Drake claiming Heights only became a champion because of Borne. Heights challenged Drake to defend the NXT North American Championship against him, and Drake said he would speak with Robert Stone about making the match happen.
  • Zilla Fatu defeated Tristan Angels by pinfall. Angels took advantage of several openings and briefly controlled the match, but Fatu rallied and finished him with the Triple Z for his first singles victory in NXT. Afterward, BirthRight approached Fatu and formally invited him to join the group, arguing that they shared similar backgrounds and could protect one another from the rest of the locker room. Fatu rejected the offer with a "hell no." When Lexis King tried to stop him from leaving, Fatu dropped him with a superkick.
  • NXT Champion Grayson Waller closed the show by celebrating his Heatwave victory and running through his WWE accomplishments before declaring that winning the NXT Championship was the biggest achievement of his career. Waller challenged someone to step forward, which brought out Saquon Shugars. Cruz Montana interrupted to make his own case, followed by EK Prosper, Mason Rook and former champion Tony D'Angelo, who demanded his opportunity to regain the title. Keanu Carver joined them and proposed a solution: the six contenders will compete in a Six-Man Tag Team Match next week, with the three members of the winning team advancing to a Triple Threat Match the following week. The winner of that match will become the No. 1 contender to Waller's NXT Championship. Stone approved the idea before another brawl broke out to end the show.
