Wrestling fans everywhere were left baffled when NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his RAW debut and lost to Jeff Hardy in a matter of minutes. While it was clear this was meant as the start of a feud, it still made no sense to bring the dominant NXT Superstar to the main roster to beat him.
While WWE did go some way in making things right this past Monday - at the expense of Keith Lee - that wasn't always the plan for Kross on RAW.
According to Fightful Select, WWE originally planned to have Kross square off with Hardy again on RAW this week. That was scrapped after the Charismatic Enigma tested positive for COVID-19 and will have no other choice than to quarantine for two weeks. However, here's the most shocking part of these plans: Kross was going to lose for the second time in a row!
Yes, WWE really was going to have the dominant NXT Champion pick up his second loss in a row.
This is horrendous booking, and the site notes that "several members of creative, and even more of the roster were baffled by the idea to beat Kross once, let alone a second straight week."
Needless to say, unless something changes, we're expecting Kross to start weighing his options about a future outside of WWE as soon as he possibly can. There's also still no word on why the company hasn't brought Scarlett to the main roster alongside Kross.
