Prior to WrestleMania, Bray Wyatt vowed to face whoever walked out of Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber as the victor. We later heard that when The Beast refused to work a program with Wyatt heading into the Show of Shows, the finish was changed, thereby leading to Lashley being chosen as the former Fiend's new rival.
That feud kicked off in earnest both on RAW and SmackDown, but Wyatt's subsequent disappearance has sent the internet into a frenzy, with unfounded claims of creative differences, injuries, and more.
Months later, there's still no sign of Wyatt.
According to Fight Fans, WWE was not "overly fond" of how that Pitch Black match with LA Knight went at the Royal Rumble or how the "new" Wyatt looked.
"WWE wasn’t overly fond of how the Pitch Black match went down and the new Bray Wyatt masked character that debuted at the Royal Rumble," the site's source tells them, "as they felt it wasn’t as good as The Fiend and wouldn’t sell the merchandise, etc. like The Fiend did."
As a result, the company started pushing for The Fiend to return after the Rumble, only for talks to break down. While the reason for his continued absence remains a mystery to us, it sounds like he might finally be preparing for a return, hence why discussions surrounding The Fiend have supposedly "picked up" again.
Speculation continues to run rampant that Vince McMahon might have something to do with Wyatt's sudden departure from television, especially as he was the one who released the former WWE Champion before Triple H brought him back.
Wyatt has lost much of his momentum in recent months, so a return happening sooner rather than later would definitely be welcomed. He won't, however, have Alexa Bliss by his side.
Keep checking back here for updates as we have them.
