For years, Ronda Rousey has dominated in the Octagon and the wrestling ring. Now the current WWE Raw Women's champion is ready to take on a new challenge as she'll square off against Earthrealm warriors, Netherrealm demons, and Outworld forces in the upcoming video game, Mortal Kombat 11.

During today's Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event, Rousey was revealed to be the voice of Sonya Blade in the upcoming fighting game. Given Rousey's dominance in physical contact sports, it makes sense that she will lend her voice to one of the toughest characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise.

“I’ve been a lifelong Mortal Kombat fan, and Sonya Blade was the first kick-ass girl that I saw come onto the scene,” Ronda Rousey said. "I've always admired her and, admittedly, kind of emulated her in my own way. Now I get to try and be her."

Voiced by Olympic Medalist and WWE Champion Ronda Rousey, Sonya Blade is a decorated officer of the Special Forces— always remaining vigilant until all realms are safe from conquest.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release on April 23, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Head on over to GameFragger to check out the actual gameplay reveal trailer for the highly anticipated game.
