To the surprise of many this past week, WWE confirmed the return of the King of the Ring tournament, which is set to start on RAW this Monday.

Now, the company has revealed the finalized brackets for the 16-man competiton (which is up above), with several potential great match-ups such as Cesaro vs. Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn vs. Cedric Alexander, Ali vs. Buddy Murphy, and Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin.

Surprisingly, the match-ups are separate by brand until the finals takes place at Clash of the Champions on September 15. There’s no word of who’s set to win the tournament this year; however, it’s been reported that the competition is designed to put the winner over as a big star going forward.

WWE further discusses the bracket with the following video on Twitter:

WWE doesn’t exactly have a strong track record with recent KOTR tournament winners due to the company sticking their wrestlers with the ridiculous and one-dimensional King gimmick that ultimately went nowhere. Hopefully that changes this year as the tournament does look promising.
