This past Tuesday on
SmackDown, Lars Sullivan cut his first promo, and it was certainly... interesting.
In among the sinister take on the Three Blind Mice and the bodily fluids, there seemed to be a slight attempt to humanize The Freak and even draw empathy from the crowd.
There could be a very good reason for this.
According to
Dave Meltzer, WWE is planning to eventually turn Lars face, and Vince reportedly sees him as another unstoppable good guy in the same mold as Braun Strowman.
That's all well and good, but now that fans know what kind of guy Lars
actually is, is anyone going to get behind his character? Granted, you could say the same about Hulk Hogan - but he's Hulk bloody Hogan, and a large contingent of fans did still boo him at
WrestleMania.
Anyway, we'll see how things shake out. For now, it's back to regular scheduled boring Freak destroys everyone programming.
