As we told you earlier today, Lacey Evans made a pretty weird appearance at the Elimination Chamber PPV when she walked down the aisle before returning to the backstage area.
It didn't really accomplish much beyond reminding fans she exists after her impressive Royal Rumble performance but Dave Meltzer has now weighed in on the matter and it sounds like there was a reason for her cameo. It's said that the idea is that Evans was there to "class" things up and Vince McMahon has huge plans for the former NXT Superstar.
"So, Lacey Evans is getting a super big push," Meltzer revealed. "That is what that is all about."
In other words, that Elimination Chamber segment was supposed to give her exposure and make her come across as a big deal. "The plan is a super big push … I know people who are pretty smart in this business who think the world of her potential. I do think she plays her character real well."
