The SummerSlam card is quickly taking shape before the PLE hits Cleveland on August 3, and we're expecting CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre to be added to the show any day now.

They've been feuding since the Royal Rumble when McIntyre's Future Shock DDT resulted in the Second City Saint suffering a torn tricep. Since then, Punk has cost the Scottish Warrior the World Heavyweight Championship on at least a few different occasions.

McIntyre, meanwhile, has delivered some brutal beatdowns to the Best in the World!

Seth Rollins has also been in the mix, of course, and according to the reliable @WrestleVotes X account, he's going to have a unique role in Punk and McIntyre's SummerSlam match.

"Source states the current plans have Seth Rollins as the special guest referee for the CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre SummerSlam match" the insider reveals. "Creative is proceeding under the assumption that Punk will be ready for action, with the anticipated clearance date set for the Monday beforehand, 7/29."

Punk was spotted at the WWE Performance Center recently and is thought to be close to being cleared for a SummerSlam match (and may be already).

Here's the current confirmed card for the PLE:

Undisputed WWE Championship Match
Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Damian Priest vs. Gunther

Women's World Championship Match
Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley

WWE Women's Championship Match
Bayley vs. Nia Jax

United States Championship Match
Logan Paul vs. LA Knight

"I like to keep people in suspense," Punk said at the Money in the Bank post-show press conference mere hours after attacking McIntyre during his failed cash-in attempt. "I will say that I feel great and I'm ready to go, and there are things in place to protect me against myself that I maybe wish were in place ten years ago, but we don't need to talk about the past."

"[I'm working with] great personnel, great facilities. I'm busting my ass to get back, if I can steal what John [Cena] was talking about, for the fans," Punk continued. "I've been working very hard to rush the rehab and come back. Everyone behind me has supported it, but they've also been like, 'We're not in a hurry,' and I love that."

Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
