The possibility of Cain Velasquez going to the WWE has greatly increased, as it’s being reported by Dave Meltzer that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion has had increased talks with the promotion as of late.
Velasquez made his in-ring debut this past summer at TripleMania XXVII and impressed many within the wrestling community. The 37-year-old revealed earlier this month that he’s had talks with both AEW and WWE, with the latter really interested in a Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar match down the line.
The company is looking to present Velasquez in a different manner than he currently portrays in AAA, as officials want him to be a serious fighter as opposed to the luchador with a mask. However, the issue remains his contract with UFC. Cain is still under contract with the promotion and is allowed to work shows in Mexico under his deal; however, the UFC will not allow the former Heavyweight Champion to work US shows.
The promotion pulled Velasquez from doing anything physical at the Pro Wrestling Revolution show that’s set to take place in the United States on Saturday. Velasquez signed a four-fight deal with the UFC back in December and has only fought once under his new contract.
