Recently, WWE did a tour in Japan with match-ups such as Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins taking place; however, the company did more than just showcase the stars of today, as it appears that Triple H was searching for the stars of tomorrow as well.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H and WWE are interested in signing Sari Fujimura (transcript courtesy of
wrestletalk.com):
“When Paul Levesque was in Japan, he was scouting Sari Fujimura, 23, better known as Sareee, who is one of the best women wrestlers in the world. She is currently under contract to the Diana promotion. She’s also the current champion in both the Sendai Girls and Diana promotion”
The 23-year-old, who’s better known as Sareee, has been wrestling since 2011; Fujimura has spent most of her time in Japan and has wrestled the likes of Aja Kong (AEW Double or Nothing) and Meiko Satomura (2018 Mae Young Classic). She’s considered one of the best female wrestlers in the world by many and has previously held the World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana World Championship and Sendai Girls World title.
There’s no word on if the two sides have had any conversations on a deal just yet. Should Fujimura sign with the company, most likely she'll start down in NXT first.
