Lana will challenge Asuka for the Raw Women's Championship later tonight after winning a dual brand No. 1 contenders battle royal last week, and it sounds like this could be the beginning of a big push for the now babyface "Ravishing Russian."

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer believes the powers that be (ie, Vince) are high on Lana, and she could be in line for a "massive babyface" programme moving forward. It's highly unlikely that she'll actually defeat The Empress of Tomorrow and win the title, but a strong showing could certainly help get her over with the fans.

Lana was quite popular after initially parting ways with Rusev, but her limitations as an in-ring talent held her back. Now that she's shown some improvement (she still need a lot of work), a renewed push could yield results - but WWE needs to be careful about choosing her opponents.

Asuka and Natalya - who Lana is expected to enter into a feud with after eliminating her from the battle royal - are smart picks, as they can carry pretty much anyone through a decent match while hiding their weaknesses.

Would you guys get behind a Lana push? Let us know in the comments.
