During Monday night's episode of RAW, Seth "Freakin" Rollins emerged triumphant in a Triple Threat Match against Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Earlier in the evening, Brock Lesnar attacked Cody Rhodes, a move that opened the door to Finn Bálor beating him and The Miz to advance to a semi-finals match against Rollins. That was a bout the leader of the Judgement Day lost, meaning Rollins will now challenge for the title at Night of Champions.
Who will his opponent be?
WWE has revealed that during tomorrow night's episode of SmackDown, Sheamus, Bobby Lashley and United States Champion Austin Theory will square off in a Triple Threat Match. The winner of that will go on to face the winner of Friday's other Triple Threat Match featuring Edge, Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles.
By the time SmackDown ends, we'll know which two Superstars will compete at the upcoming PLE in Saudi Arabia, and we'd say Rollins vs. Edge would make for one heck of a main event.
Ultimately, Rollins winning the title seems like the most logical move given how over he is with fans at the moment. It's been a while since he had a run with a world title, and we'd say that's long overdue at this stage (WWE also seems to be teasing another title run for him).
Who will go head-to-head with The Visionary in the showdown to crown the new World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions? We'll find out when the tournament continues this Friday on FOX at 8/7 C on SmackDown.
