WrestleMania has come and gone, but the WWE rumour mill doesn't slow down. It's a fresh start for the company as the build to SummerSlam begins, with new champions and storylines setting the stage for an exciting few months.
We're back with another rumour roundup today, starting with updates on John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and The Rock before moving on to the fallout from the Showcase of the Immortals.
There's also potential news on some NXT callups and the matches which didn't make it onto the WrestleMania card. You can see a full breakdown of the latest WWE rumours below.
- According to Bodyslam.net, "There is a pitch for John Cena and Travis Scott to work a tag team match together at some point this year"
- Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer said he was "always told" that The Rock wouldn't appear at WrestleMania, with one WWE insider going so far as to tell him, "Go in there and report that he’s absolutely not coming, because he might get so mad that he’ll come"
- Meltzer also noted that while The Rock pushed for Cody Rhodes to turn heel, that's "not the plan" right now, even if there's a risk the Final Boss will try and "force it" due to his influence backstage
- PW Insider reports that Alexa Bliss isn't injured and is just waiting for WWE to find the right creative for her
- Becky Lynch reportedly pitched everything about her WrestleMania return and subsequent heel turn on RAW, reveals Wrestling Observer Radio's Bryan Alvarez
- Rusev also returned at the event, and PW Insider explains that "many talents in WWE were happy to have Rusev back in the fold" and WWE now "intends to have Rusev back in the mix in a major way"
- Talking of WrestleMania, there are rumblings the Show of Shows will return to Las Vegas in the next 3 - 5 years
- Various outlets are reporting that Tony D'Angelo, Trick Williams, and Lola Vice are all likely to receive main roster callups after WrestleMania
- Bodyslam.net reveals that Solo Sikoa was never planned for a major role at WrestleMania, debunking a claim that he had been eyed as the special guest referee for Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship match against John Cena. He also wasn't considered for Rany Orton's mystery opponent
- In fact, Orton is said to have hand-picked Joe Hendry due to being a fan of his work
- That same report states that Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax and The Wyatt Sicks vs. The Judgment Day were both considered, but didn't happen due to injuries to Jax and Bo Dallas
