WWE Said To Be Interested In Signing Indy Wrestling Sensation WALTER

It's once again being reported that WWE is showing some real interest in WALTER, the Austrian wrestler who has made a name for himself over the past year both in Europe and for Indy promotions like PWG. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, his name has been coming up a lot this past week in WWE and it's now believed that talks between them are getting serious.

WWE actually showed interest in him earlier this year but he had a contract with wXw in Germany and said that he didn't want to be away from home for long periods of time, something a WWE contract almost certainly guarantees. This is why WALTER didn't end up with WWE or NJPW but the thought process now is that he'll be signed to a WWE UK style deal allowing him to work elsewhere too.

That presumably means he'll end up being used in a similar fashion to Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne. While they are flown to NXT tapings, they primarily work in Europe and for WWE's UK tapings.
