WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 38 Preview & Predictions:
As this is taking place in San Antonio, it's the perfect place to bring back WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. San Antonio's own Heartbreak Kid is set to moderate a contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, where the legend will collect their title belts in preparation for next week's ladder match at the Royal Rumble.
We can expect this to go down like every other contract signing in the world, where Owens and Rhodes will get into a fight.
After several brawls in recent days, a battle of behemoths will go down as "The Monster of All Monsters" Braun Strowman clashes with "The Samoan Werewolf" Jacob Fatu. It's expected LA Knight and Tama Tonga will be ringside to back up Strowman and Fatu respectively.
This is Fatu's match to win. It'd be surprising if Strowman walked out victorious.
Three titles are also on the line as Bron Breakker defends the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus, Rhea Ripley puts her Women's World Championship up for grabs against Nia Jax, and Jey Uso makes a bid for Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship.
All titles are going to stay put where they are. If anything, The Celtic Warrior will finally win the belt holding him back from being a Grand Slam Champion, but even that's hard to believe. At the very least, The Irresistible Force will absolutely not beat The Eradicator, and as much as his moniker fits the show, Main Event Jey Uso will fall short against The Ring General.
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 38 Results:
- Singles Match for the Women's World Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) defeated Nia Jax by pinfall to retain
- Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Bron Breakker (c) defeated Sheamus by pinfall to retain. Jesse "The Body" Ventura was on commentary for this match and it may be important to note that Sheamus had Breakker down for a 3-count at one point after a Brogue Kick, only for Breakker to just barely escape a loss by having his foot on the rope, which Ventura thought was b.s. and that the pin should've counted.
- Shawn Michaels moderated the contract signing with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. After Rhodes and Owens talked trash to each other, Michaels found himself a target for Owens, who tried to give him a package piledriver. Rhodes saved Michaels by superkicking Owens, and HBK then followed that up with some Sweet Chin Music to take out Owens.
- Singles Match: Braun Strowman defeated Jacob Fatu by disqualification. Fatu was ignoring the referee and continuing to attack Strowman, getting himself disqualified when he tossed the referee to the ground. A collection of officials tried to get Fatu to back off, but he would end up doing three moonsaults to Strowman before leaving.
- Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) defeated Jey Uso by pinfall to retain his title and stay the top dog on Monday Night Raw, despite how Jey nearly had the win at multiple times during the bout.
