Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (Friday, October 9, 2026) emanates live from CAJUNDOME in Lafayette, Louisiana and will air starting at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

Results, match winners, promo segment notes and other major developments from WWE's blue brand will be added below as Friday Night SmackDown airs.

Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for tonight's Money in the Bank go-home episode, WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Fatal Influence defend against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley. CM Punk will also return to SmackDown one night before joining Bron Breakker, Je'Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta and Kevin Owens in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Typically, go-home episodes prior to Money in the Bank are very heavy on the idea that people need to come out and showcase that they're going to win the briefcase. We already see a tag team match on the lineup with people who aren't involved, but Jacy Jayne should likely be ringside to accompany Fatal Influence, and I could very well see this breaking down into one of those "everyone comes out one by one to start fighting with each other" segments if she gets involved. However, I also think that could be reserved for the men's match, and Jayne will simply be distracted by someone like Tiffany Stratton or whatever.

I doubt WWE is going to deviate much from the formula. With not much announced ahead of time, expect the first 20 minutes to be promos, which could be one of those "summit" type situations with the men's or women's division just hanging out in the ring to say "I'm going to win the briefcase" one after another, trade insults, and get into a fight.

Frankly, I could see both the opening and the closing of the show being exactly that, which may revolve around the "CM Punk returns" billing, which is stupid because he's there on a regular basis, so how is he "returning" when he's not away? WWE loves that terminology. Someone over there thinks "returns" is a magic keyword.

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - October 9, 2026:

  • TBD - Tag Team Match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) (c) vs Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley
