According to Wrestling Obsever Radio, Stomping Grounds did an estimated 9800 PPV buys in the United States.
That's a record low for WWE PPVs in the current era (i.e. since the WWE Network was launched) with the previous record holder being 11,000 buys for the Super ShowDown PPV in Saudi Arabia. It's obviously a very small percentage of wrestling fans who now buy PPVs on this platform but this is yet another indication that there's a lack of interest in the current product.
The majority of PPVs average around 15,000 buys these days and some of the bigger events hit 20,000. WrestleMania 35, however, drew around 100,000 buys in April!
The event was something of a disaster because while it may have received mostly positive reviews, the arena Stomping Grounds was held in can hold 18,000 fans but only managed to draw 4000 - 4500 on Sunday. That makes it one of the smallest PPVs in quite some time.
