Preview & Predictions for WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1:
The safest call is that CM Punk leaves with the Undisputed WWE Championship, but not through a clean, uncomplicated finish over Cody Rhodes. This feels built for interference rather than a straight pinfall, with Randy Orton as the most obvious candidate if WWE wants to spin Rhodes into another title-program wrinkle. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Gunther or even some celebrity involvement could fill that role too, but the point is the same: Punk vs Rhodes ending normally feels unlikely.
Oba Femi beating Brock Lesnar is the result WWE needs if the idea is actually to elevate him. A single win over Lesnar followed by two losses does not put Femi on a pedestal; it just makes the earlier victory feel like a detour. If the company is serious about him being the future, this is where he has to win.
For the Women's World Championship, this has felt predictable since the Queen of the Ring bracket was moving toward Liv Morgan against IYO SKY. SKY beating Morgan for the crown set up the obvious title-match counterbalance, and I am expecting Morgan to get the win back at SummerSlam. It kills a few months, but that does not make it exciting.
Gunther should beat Nick Aldis unless WWE is planning to extend the program. Aldis finally wrestling his first WWE match is noteworthy, but if this is just a one-match issue, Gunther taking the loss would not serve much. If they are going past SummerSlam, Aldis winning could fuel a bigger Gunther story. Without that continuation, The Ring General is my pick.
The Bloodline six-man is harder to read because WWE has pulled back on Jacob Fatu's tension with Jimmy and Jey Uso. If that thread is still active, Fatu ignoring orders and costing his team would make sense. Since nothing major is on the line, and Solo Sikoa could still end up turning back toward the family, I am leaning toward The Bloodline winning even though I think a loss might fit the story better.
Fatal Influence should lose to The Bella Twins and Paige. Nikki and Brie chasing the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship is the obvious next step, so the returning legends and Paige need the win to justify moving into that title picture.
