Preview & Predictions for WWE Sunday Night's Main Event 2026:
On tap for the first-ever Sunday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes goes to war with former mentor Randy Orton; Oba Femi collides with Bron Breakker in a battle billed around the future of WWE; United States Champion Baron Corbin faces Lil Yachty in a Five-Minute Challenge that could earn Trick Williams a championship match later in the night; and Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley take on Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab in six-woman tag team action.
Considering the four matches on the show, it would be a little strange if Baron Corbin beats Lil Yachty within five minutes and the Trick Williams rematch doesn't happen. My guess is Corbin will play around with him for the majority of the time, Trick will get involved, the timer will go off, and the match will be on. Then, Corbin will either somehow retain the title and it'll all basically be for nothing but milking some extra segments out of something that has already happened twice, or the title will change hands so that they can have a good celebration moment and that this was planned from the start of Corbin taking the title to fill in the gap. I'm hoping WWE goes with the latter option, obviously, and I think they will. If not, then I'll be confused, even as a Corbin fan who is super happy he's champion right now. It just feels like Trick winning the title back is the right decision.
Does anyone care about the six-woman tag? It means nothing. Let's just say Flair, Bliss, and Paxley win because B-Fab and Michin can take a pinfall.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton feels like one of those things where their tendency as of late to end things with no contests and disqualifications will result in this going nowhere as well. There's no stipulation or gimmick attached to it. Rhodes and Orton will have to have some sort of Last Man Standing match or something down the line.
When it comes to Oba Femi and Bron Breakker, the real thing to watch out for is if Paul Heyman joins up with Femi and ditches Breakker. That's not some "hot take" type of analysis. It's literally the story. So either he does or he doesn't. We don't know what WWE's priority is. I hope we don't get Femi and Heyman together, as Femi doesn't need him.

- Countdown Pre-Show Match: AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio defeated Joe Hendry by pinfall. Liv Morgan distracted the referee while JD McDonagh tried to interfere, allowing Mysterio to capitalize with a 619 and Frog Splash. Afterward, Morgan vowed to defeat Stephanie Vaquer on Raw and retain the Women's World Championship.

- Quavo opened the main broadcast with a live performance before Lil Yachty made his entrance for the Five-Minute Challenge.
- Five-Minute No Disqualification Challenge: Lil Yachty survived five minutes against United States Champion Baron Corbin to earn Trick Williams a championship match. Corbin dominated much of the fight and hit Yachty with End of Days, but wasted time punishing him rather than making the cover. With the clock winding down, Corbin set up a table and attempted a superplex before Yachty caught him with a low blow and allowed the remaining seconds to expire. Corbin responded by chokeslamming Yachty through the table after the match, only for Trick Williams to immediately come out for his title opportunity.
- United States Championship Match: Trick Williams defeated Baron Corbin (c) by pinfall to win the title. Corbin nearly retained after striking Williams with the championship belt while the referee was distracted by Lil Yachty, but Williams kicked out. Corbin then attempted End of Days, only for Williams to escape and connect with the Trick Shot to regain the United States Championship.
- Paul Heyman personally introduced Bron Breakker and Oba Femi before their match, framing the showdown as a battle to determine the future of WWE.
- Singles Match: Oba Femi defeated Bron Breakker by disqualification. Austin Theory interfered and was put through the announce table by Femi. Breakker then hit consecutive Spears, but Femi still kicked out. Logan Paul appeared to distract the referee while Maxxine Dupri supplied Breakker with brass knuckles, but Femi stopped Breakker from using them. Bronson Reed then made his surprise return and attacked Femi with a steel chair to cause the disqualification. After the match, Reed and Breakker destroyed Femi with a series of Spears and Tsunamis, leaving The Vision standing tall.
- Cathy Kelley attempted to get Paul Heyman's reaction to Bronson Reed's return and the attack on Oba Femi. Heyman said he had plenty to say, but received a phone call and abruptly walked away to take it.
- Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab defeated Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley by pinfall. Flair and Paxley attempted to apply simultaneous Figure Eight Leg Locks, but B-Fab knocked Paxley into Flair and disrupted the attempt. Cargill capitalized by hitting Jaded on Flair and scoring the pinfall victory.
- Singles Match: Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes by pinfall. The fight began before the opening bell and spilled through the crowd before eventually reaching the ring. Brandi Rhodes even became involved from ringside by throwing a drink in Orton's face. Later, multiple referee collisions left the officials incapacitated while the match became increasingly violent. Rhodes struck Orton in the face with the steel steps and left him badly bloodied before hitting consecutive Cross Rhodes. Rhodes then lined Orton up for a Punt, but stopped when Orton begged him not to do it. As another referee entered, Orton used the hesitation to deliver a low blow that also caught the official, followed by an RKO. Charles Robinson recovered in time to count the pin and give Orton the victory in Rhodes' hometown.
- The broadcast ended with a memorial graphic honoring Bill Dundee.
