If you've been wondering where Braun Strowman has been in recent weeks, we finally have an answer.
The former Universal Champion took to Instagram over the weekend to confirm he recently flew to Alabama for neck fusion surgery. It's unclear whether it was a single incident that led to this or if he's been dealing with a nagging injury for some time, but this is disappointing news for the Monster Among Men's fans.
For starters, this sort of injury is likely to not only sideline Strowman for the rest of this year but perhaps well into 2024's WrestleMania season.
Since returning to WWE as part of Triple H's new regime, Strowman has been tagging with Richochet. Their last match was on the May 1 edition of RAW when they battled Alpha Academy. Ricochet qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match last week so it was clear then that he might be working as a singles star again.
Taking to social media, Strowman wrote: "Road to recovery starts now!!!! Level one #fusion on my c4/c5 #vertebrae was in the great hands of #DrCordover at @andrews_sports_medicine was a great experience considering. Thank you to @wwe for always taking the up most care of us."
"This was very scary to find out about having to have done and they were there every step of the way reassuring that I was going to have the best care possible. This will take a little bit of time to heal from. But I assure you ( in the words of the #Terminator ) I’ll be back!!!! Thank you all in advance for the well wishes."
With any luck, Strowman's recovery will be a speedy one so he can step back into the squared circle again in time for the Royal Rumble.
Needless to say, we're wishing him all the best!
