Keith Lee hasn't been seen on television for a little while now, and rumour has it that the plan is for the former NXT Champion to be repackaged as a monster heel. That's a much-needed change for Lee since his return to RAW, and he worked a house show this weekend in a match with Akira Tozawa.
However, fans in attendance noticed that Lee appears to have changed his appearance, growing out the beard he had when he was working as one of the top Superstars in NXT.
This might not seem like a big deal, but when Vince McMahon brought Lee to the main roster, fans hated his new music, clean-cut appearance, and ugly ring gear. Hopefully, WWE has taken those criticisms on board because it's clear that some major changes need to be made to the character.
Upon coming back to the Monday night show, Lee suffered losses to Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross, and it now remains unclear when we can expect to see him back on TV as a babyface or in this new heel persona. Hopefully, we'll have more to share with you soon, but it does look like WWE is making an effort to find a better way to portray Lee with these dark matches and house show appearances.
