WWE Superstar Roman Reigns Comments On His Relationship With NO MERCY Opponent John Cena Outside The Ring
Roman Reigns & John Cena's in-ring personas clearly don't like each other very much, but what about the men behind the Superstars? In an interview, The Big Dog comments on their relationship outside the ring...
John Cena and Roman Reigns will finally clash one-on-one at the No Mercy PPV next week, and it'll be a rare enough instance of two "babyfaces" (yes, even if they do get heel reactions) battling it out to prove who really is the top guy in the WWE.
Because their recent promos have become so personal, many fans have wondered how these two really get on behind-the-scenes, and during a new interview with CBSSports.com The Big Dog was asked that very question.
“I’ll be completely honest: Me and John have always been cordial, but I would not say we are close friends by any means. There is a business respect, but I think that’s what makes this so special that we’re truly competing against each other and I think people see that. But it’s not like a situation where I’m taking anything he says to heart because I don’t really care what he thinks about me. If you care for someone and they knife you, it’s going to hurt. It will hurt your feelings and can depress you. But when you don’t really care about somebody or their opinion, it doesn’t affect you. And that’s how it is with me and John.”
Sounds about right. After all, it's hard to imagine many people were under the assumption that there two were hanging out together at the bar after the show. Then again, wrestlers do tend to maintain kayfabe to a certain degree when discussing these type of things so I guess you really never know.
