Next week's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is set to feature a match between LA Knight and Tama Tonga, following their brawl (alongside respectively Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu—who will be wrestling at Saturday Night's Main Event).
It will also feature The Motor City Machine Guns in a tag team match against Pretty Deadly.
The MCMG are getting a chance to win back the WWE Tag Team Championships they lost to #DIY, as Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin defeated Los Garza (Angel and Berto)—who had beaten Pretty Deadly prior—and last week, A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller). Pretty Deadly tried to interfere in the match to help Legado del Fantasma's team come out on top, but inadvertently caused referee Jessika Carr from being able to see a pinfall Berto was attempting to make, leading to them ultimately losing this match soon after.
This has upset the tag team champions, who are annoyed that Pretty Deadly keeps failing at doing their dirty work properly, and Gargano attacked Apollo Crews from behind due to him sticking his nose in their business too much lately.
In other tag team related news, it was announced that Bianca Belair and Naomi will be defending the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship titles against The Meta Girls (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) in two weeks on the January 28th episode of NXT, set to take place at the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Georgia.
The announcement came after Belair and Naomi had just defeated Nia Jax and Candice LeRae in a non-title match.
Jackson and Legend earned this opportunity at the gold by defeating The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) on this past episode of NXT, yet the date for the title match had not yet been announced.
