WWE The Horror Show at Extreme Rules 2020 took place Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, featuring superstars from the Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown brands.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this show, as well as the full breakdown of match results for those who might have missed it:
— Kevin Owens defeated Murphy by pinfall as the kickoff match.
— SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tables Match: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated The New Day (c) to win the titles.
— SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Bayley (c) defeated Nikki Cross by pinfall to retain the title.
— The United States Championship match didn't happen. MVP was declared the winner by forfeit as Apollo Crews was ruled unable to compete after failing his pre-match physical due to a bulging disc he suffered from Bobby Lashley's Full Nelson. Instead of being declared the true champion by winning this match by forfeit, the commentary team referred to MVP as not the real champion, still.
— Eye for an Eye Match: Seth Rollins defeated Rey Mysterio
— Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs Sasha Banks ended in another unofficial finish as Bayley put on a referee shirt and counted a pinfall for Banks that the commentary team immediately referred to as invalid, yet the segment moved on anyway.
— WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre (c) defeated Dolph Ziggler by pinfall to retain the title. The stipulation was that Ziggler could follow Extreme Rules booking while McIntyre would lose the title if he got counted out or disqualified.
— Wyatt Swamp Fight: Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman in a sense as The Fiend was the last thing shown on the event, rising from the swamp water.
