We have a new NXT North American Champion as of the May 27, 2025 edition of NXT, as Ethan Page defeated Ricky Saints to win his second title on the black and silver brand.

This match had been announced last week, with the idea in mind that even though "Super" Sean Legacy had earned a title match and would be a rightful challenger in the future, NXT General Manager Ava was tired of the feud between Page and Saints and wanted them to settle this once and for all.

Before the bell could even ring for this opening match of tonight's NXT, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints started to fight each other. It got to the point that officials were trying to separate them, but they would continue to brawl outside the ring.

Eventually, Ava came out to try to restore some order, but failed. Instead, she just opted to tell the referees that she needed a clear winner, as she wanted this feud to be over and done with.

Of course, a clear winner is anything but what happened, due in part because of Page using a steel chair on Saints (via a cutter) to give him an advantage. They had not specified that this would be a No Disqualification match or anything of that official Extreme Rules type of stipulation, but just that the referee was allowed some extra leeway to use his discretion. As a result of this, and another cutter in the ring, Page was able to score the pin and win the title.

WWE has still yet to announce who will be fighting for the title at Worlds Collide (which was announced at WWE Battleground), nor have they clarified as of this publication when Sean Legacy will get his title opportunity. There is still time on this episode to give out those details, though, so stay tuned and check back to see if there are any updates.
