On Friday night, Seth Rollins returned to NXT for a live event in his hometown of Davenport, Iowa. However, things took an even more unexpected turn the following evening when he made an appearance for SCW Pro, an Indy company running a show at the Walcott Coliseum in Walcott, Iowa for SCW Epic 2019.
The Universal Champion was featured in the opening segment alongside Marek Brave (see below) and there was a good reason why he appeared there.
Rollins actually wrestled for the promotion during the early days of his wrestling career and he and Brave train wrestlers at their Black and Brave Wrestling Academy in Davenport. They actually produce wrestlers for SCW Pro and it's worth noting that Rollins did not appear with the Universal title.
While WWE was probably fine with him appearing at the show, they probably didn't want it to be too closely associated with them. Check out the highlights below:
