WrestleMania 35 has come and gone, now the build towards WrestleMania 36 begins; The company has compiled a list of five potential matches that could take place at the showcase of the immortals next year.
The five matches listed in the video are Roman Reigns vs. The Rock, Brock Lesnar vs. Matt Riddle, John Cena vs. The Velveteen Dream, the WWE Four Horsewomen vs. the MMA Four Horsewomen, and Finn Balor competing for the Universal Championship.
Could these matches be a sign of what’s to come next year in Tampa?
Riddle has continuously talked about wanting to be the man to end Brock Lesnar’s professional wrestling career. While the two never fought each other in the UFC due to being in different weight classes, both wrestlers do have an MMA background that the company could play off of and it should be a great bout between the former UFC stars.
The WWE Four Horsewomen vs. MMA Four Horsewomen match has been teased since 2017. Lynch, Banks, Bayley, and Flair confronted Rousey, Baszler, Duke, and Marina Shafir in a backstage segment designed to set up a match between the factions at Survivor Series of that year.
That bout was eventually scrapped, though officials remain high on the WWE vs. MMA Horsewomen match-up. However, with the reports of Sasha Banks wanting out of the company, the potential bout could remain a dream if the inaugural Tag Team champion does leave the promotion.
Reigns vs. The Rock has been a match that’s been teased for sometime now. Reports surfaced that Reigns was originally set to defend the Universal title against the former WWE champion in the main event this past year.
Balor challenging for the Universal Championship is an interesting one, as it would seem to indicate that the company will finally give the Intercontinental champion another shot at being the top dog.
