WWE recently announced the hiring of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff for top creative positions on Raw and SmackDown LIVE, respectively, but it looks like Vince McMahon was considering reaching out to another infamous name from the company's past.
According to Brad Shepard of Pro Sports, McMahon initially wanted to bring in Vince Russo to lend a hand, but Bruce Prichard wasn't having any of it.
Although he was an integral part of the success (well, if you ask him) of WWE's Attitude Era, Russo's name is pretty much mud when it comes to any current wrestling promotion, as he has proven time and time again that he has very little interest in what goes on in the ring and is only concerned about silly, Jerry Springer style storylines which garner a bit of controversy.
If there is any truth to the above, it's safe to say we dodged a bullet.
