During last night's episode of SmackDown, two Triple Threat Matches took place to decide who will face Seth Rollins at Night of Champions for the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The first bout saw AJ Styles defeat Edge and Rey Mysterio, while the second featured Bobby Lashley managing to overcome Austin Theory and Sheamus. In the main event, the Phenomenal One went toe-to-toe with the All Mighty, but it was Styles who ultimately picked up the win.
Now, Rollins vs. Styles is set for Night of Champions, with the winner of that match set to be crowned World Heavyweight Champion.
However, we may already know who's going to win.
According to the increasingly reliable @BoozerRasslin Twitter account, we've learned that one idea being discussed backstage is for NXT call-up Grayson Waller to invite the new champion to be part of his "The Grayson Waller Effect" talk show. It sounds like Styles will be his first guest so, if correct, there's a very good chance he's winning the title.
That could mean we're getting a Styles/Waller feud for the title, a surprise on a number of levels. For starters, Styles has been drafted to SmackDown so, as things stand, that brand will soon have two world champions unless the plan is to make some trades with RAW.
Considering the fact the World Heavyweight Champion was supposed to be heading to the Monday night show, this is baffling, though SmackDown Superstars being included in the tournament in the first place has raised eyebrows.
We'll keep you updated.
