2023 has been quite the year for Jey Uso. After siding with his brother, Jimmy, and turning on The Bloodline, he pinned Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank and very nearly dethroned the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam.
Betrayed by Jimmy, Jey quit WWE but was later brought to RAW by Cody Rhodes. Since then, he's established himself as a singles star and has been all over the Monday night show in recent weeks.
According to Fightful Select, Jey's move to RAW is just one part of a much bigger plan for the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion. Plans for him to transition from being a tag team wrestler to a singles wrestler were in place prior to SummerSlam, with Jey, Jimmy, and Solo Sikoa all viewed as "important building blocks" in WWE's future plans.
It's said that WWE is very happy with how Jey's push is going and, as of now, there are no plans to put an end to it. It appears the sky is the limit for him, with those backstage said to be thrilled with what he's achieved on RAW thus far.
It's also clear fans have embraced Jey as a top babyface...
In recent weeks, we've seen The Judgement Day try and fail to recruit Jey, only for him to make it clear he's not interested. He's also been involved in segments with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens and last night's RAW suggested the plan is for those three and Sami Zayn to face the heel faction down the line.
Survivor Series is fast approaching, so War Games makes sense!
WWE prioritising Jey over Jimmy is interesting, but it does make sense. While his twin brother was injured at the height of the pandemic, the "Main Event" Superstar proved he could hang with Reigns at the top of the card, so this push has seemingly been in the works for a long time now.
