This week's episode of SmackDown Live featured a big change in WWE's creative plans as Daniel Bryan won the WWE Championship and turned heel. Before that, it seemed as if the company was teasing dissension between him and Shane McMahon, especially after the latter was named "best in the world" at Crown Jewel. Now, the original idea for next year's WrestleMania has been revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer, Shane was originally going to square off with Bryan at the Showcase of the Immortals but Vince McMahon has now nixed that idea due to Bryan being heel and champion.

What role, if any, Shane will now play at WrestleMania is hard to say but it would be no bad thing if he sits this one out, especially as there's really no need for him to have a match at the show when there are so many deserving and younger WWE Superstars. What do you guys think? Sound off down below.
