Last week, former WWE Superstar CM Punk shared his thoughts on Big E's singles run and pointed out that The New Day member should ditch Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in order to find success. He even pitched an angle where Big E would physically attack his tag team partners, but what does Woods make of that?
During an appearance on the Battleground podcast, he pretty much dismissed the idea immediately. "I mean I don’t really have time to think about stuff like that. I’m kind of busy, burning the candle at both ends while being injured, trying to make a name for myself instead of talking about what everybody else is doing," he explained.
"I love that people have enough passion about what’s going on to talk about it. It’s great." Woods then went on to talk about how The New Day's friendship comes before anything else, stating that the team will support each other no matter which titles they hold as singles competitors.
"I want Big E to hold all of the titles, I want Kofi to hold all of the titles," he added. "I want to hold all of the titles. The way that we get there is going to be in our own way. We’ve always wanted to be different and we’re going to get there by being different."
In wrestling, it's typical for factions to split up, but it would certainly be unique for The New Day to remain together, even if its members end up doing very different things as singles competitors down the line.
