Last year, Xavier Woods suffered a nasty Achilles injury during a non-televised WWE Live event in Australia. At the time, no recovery timetable was given, but there was speculation that it could be a career-ending injury, something which left fans very concerned about The New Day member's future.
During a recent appearance on WWE's The Bump, Woods was asked for an update, but revealed that things are still very much up in the air right now. "I, unfortunately, don't have an update on when I'm going to be back for in-ring action," he admitted. "I'm feeling pretty good [though]. I'm moving around and doing my treatments. Things are coming along."
A couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, Tag Team Champions Big E and Kofi Kingston took a knee to support the Black Lives Matter movement, and Woods was quick to praise his fellow New Day members.
"[I'm] extremely proud," Woods replied. "You guys know that's something that is very important to us for a very long time. To be able to let young black kids know that your voice is heard, and it's important, I'm just proud that they did that for them as the audience was watching."
With any luck, we'll have a positive update on Woods' medical status soon.
