Last Friday, WWE announced that Talking Smack would return on the Saturday before SummerSlam, with Xavier Woods and Kayla Braxton hosting the show (in place of Daniel Bryan and Renee Young).

Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer reported that Woods wasn't actually told he would be co-hosting with Braxton, and that there were no plans in place for him to appear before the announcement was made. As a result, The Miz was picked as a last-minute replacement, with The New Day member Big E serving as the show's guest.

During an interview with Table Talk, Woods discussed his absence. "I was at home. I found out when y’all found out," he explained. "It’s been adjusted, so I’ll be there soon. It’s one of those things where, it’s a very large company and you’ll find with any large company, sometimes, things get lost in the cracks. Things somebody told somebody else.

"It’s a regular thing with a company that is as large and successful as this," Woods continued. "It’s not a bad thing by any means. It’s just, ‘Oops,’ okay cool and now we’re on the train tracks again, let’s get it moving." Clearly, he will be part of Talking Smack at some point...just not yet!
