Over the weekend, it was revealed that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star in Young Rock for NBC. The 11 episode series will chronicle The Great One's formative years and sounds a lot like Everybody Hates Chris which saw Chris Rock providing a voiceover while a young actor played him as a kid.
Needless to say, given The Rock's wrestling background and unique rags to riches story, this could make for must-see viewing and it will presumably get more episodes if ratings end up impressing.
It's going to be a busy year for the former WWE Champion. While he likely won't make any sort of WWE return following his Friday Night SmackDown appearance last year, he'll soon be working on Black Adam and will next star in Disney's Jungle Cruise. He also has a pre-existing relationship with NBC thanks to The Titan Games and will executive produce Young Rock.
